Black Sesame & Banana Oatmeal

The abundance of black sesame in Asian desserts is absolutely delightful to my pallet and I really miss it! So I thought I’d bring it into my breakfast rotation. It goes splendidly with banana and coconut so this was a no brainer. I like mine best with a little salt, warm and sweet with a drizzle of cold milk. Heavenly!

Cook Time - 20 mins

Equipment - Cooktop

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup Steel Cut Oats

  • 1 tsp Salt, fine Himalayan is my preference

  • 1 tbsp Toasted Coconut Flakes

Method

  1. Cook oatmeal in salted water, stirring until tender

  2. Stir to combine Black Sesame Seeds

  3. Chop bananas, add most to the oatmeal and leave some aside to top

  4. Garnish with coconut flakes and Enjoy!

Tips

  • Tips - you can cook the oatmeal in a rice cooker if you don’t fancy stirring

  • Serving suggestions - tastes great warm or cold, but warm with a drizzle of cold milk is the best!

  • Store refrigerate in airtight container for up to 4 days
